- An expert system for cucumber seedling production under plastic tunnels (CUPTEX/Seedling) was designed with six functions: seed cultivation, media preparation, control of environmental growth factors, diagnosis,
treatment and plant protection.
- An expert system for cucumber precultivation management under plastic tunnels (CUPTEX/Pre-cultivation)
was developed to guide tunnel and soil preparation. The expert system offers advice on mulching. ridin sub-
soilin.adding chemical fertilizers, plowing, adding organic manure and gypsum, washing the plastic tunnel,
installing shelters and nets, disinfecting the tunnel, and other topics.
- CUPTEX/Agro-management was designed to generate an irrigation and fertilization operations schedule for
cucumbers under plastic tunnels. The expert system's scope includes water quantity, irrigation intervals,
nutrient quantity and application intervals.
- An expert system for cucumber disorders (CUPTEX/Disorder Handling) was designed to identify the cause and
severity of observed disorders and then propose the appropriate remedies. Over 45 known cucumber disorders
are included in this system's expertise.
