Abstract |
SUMMARY
Six Egyptian cotton cultivars namely,Giza 86(P1).Giza •(P.).
Giza 87 (P3),Giza 85(P4),Giza 83 (P3)and Giza 80(P.)were crossed in
a half-diallel genetic design according to Griffing (1956),Model I1.
Method II of six parents,their 15 F,hybrids and 15 F:populations were
used.Crossing parental materials inters by the diallel system was iniriated
at El-Giza Experimental Station of the Agricultural Research Center.to
obtain Fi's and their corresponding F2's in 1996 and 1997 seasons.In
1998,the six varieties and their derived crosses were evaluated under
three different environments of Sakha (kafr El-Shiekh govermorate).Giza
Experimental station(Giza govermorate) and Sacolta (Sohag govermorate)
The experimental layout was a randomized complete blocks design with
three replications.
The main objective of the present investigation was to determined
general combining ability (GCA),specific combining ability(SCA),
heterosis,inbreeding depression and heritability for several agronomic
traits and fiber properties.
