Cucumber growers Knowledge needs concerning the safe use
of chemical pesticides insides the plastic greenhouses in
some villages in belgas district, EI-Dakahlia Governorate

| Abstract |
This research aimed mainly to identify growers knowledge
needs concerning the safe use of chemical pesticides insides the plastic
greenhouses on cucumber, identify growers information sources
concerning the safe use of chemical pesticides, identify the problems pace
respondents in this domain and their suggestion to overcome these
problems. Personal interview questionnaire were used with 73
respondents of plastic greenhouses on cucumber growers were chosen
randomly according to "krejeci, and Morgan" of the population (90
Farmers) of the largest three villages farmers for cucumber cultivation in
plastic greenhouses farmers, In Belkes district they are : El-Jazair,
Manshiyt Sohoman, and Wazir village,.
Frequencies, percentages, means, standard deviation, and mode
were used to percent and analyze data statistically.
The main results of the research are :
65.8% of the respondents with moderate and high knowledge
need level concerning the safe use of chemical pesticides insides
the plastic greenhouses.
Personal experiences, relations, neighbors, friends, chemical
pesticides seller's, supervisors, and extension panels are the most
important information' sources about the safe use of pesticides in
plastic greenhouses, were said that, 86.3% , 68.5% , 64.4%,
54.8% and 23.3% of the respondents respectively.
The main problems face respondents in this domain are: bad
quality chemical pesticides, shortage of safe pesticides, shortage
agricultural extensions, shortage of extension bulletins were said
respectively.
The important suggestions to overcome these problems are
control pesticides market, providing safe pesticides on human
health, providing extension bulletins in this domain were said
that, 82.2% , 75.3% , 73.9%, and 71.2% of the respondents
respectively.
