FARMER'S KNOWLEDGE, ATmUDE AND IMPLEMENTATION OF
INTEGRATED PEST CONTROL AND DISEASES METHODS

| Abstract |
The present study aimed mainly at identifying the implementations levels, the
knowledge and the different attitudes of potatoes Respondents farmers to apply the
methods of Integrated control in some villages in the province of Dakahlia and to
identify the sources of information from which Respondents farmers get their
information about Integrated control and the most important problems in implementing
the integrated control methods.
This study was conducted in nine villages in Dakahlia which are (Shinkash- AI
tawila-Patra) in Talkha center and the villages (Tanamal- Fishabna- Sahagra El so
ghra) in Aga center and three villages in Sinblawin center and they are (AI roda -kafr
tanbul El kadim - kafr tanbul el gad id) and a simple random sample has been chosen
from 150 Respondents (50 potatoes farmers from each center) and the data Has been
collecting in Questionnaires in Personal interview to Conform its provisions to achieve
the research goals. The data has been analyzed using frequencies and percentages
and The arithmetic average of the correlation coefficient and stepwise regression
rookie as Statistical analysis tools ...
The study has reached the results derived
1-50% of respondents potato growers have a high level of knowledge about the
methods of integrated pest control and 48,7 % have a high level of Carrying out
the methods of control integrated in general as Control tactics Agriculture came
first (89% for knowledge and 94,7% for implementations implementation
Mechanical control means came second 49,4% and 68,7% for knowledge and
Vividness Control means came at last (0%) for knowledge and implementations.
2- 61.3% from the Respondents farmers have Positive trends towards The
application of methods of integrated pest contol and 37,3% have Neutral trends
and 1.4% have negative trends towards application of methods of integrated pest
contol.
3- Half the respondents 48% depend mainly on their personal experience to get their
information about Integrated control against pests and diseases of potatoes and
in second ranking there are Parents and neighbors and in third ranking there are
Seed dealers and pesticides dealers as well but the Researchers at Research
Center and agricultural Specialist in crop management and coaching fields came
at the last three ranks from seventh to ninth.
4- High production requirements of the potato crop prices came as the most serious
problem facing the Respondents farmers 100% and in the second rank we find
Traders and brokers control prices 48% and in the third rank we noticed that there
is no role of Ministry of Agriculture (Agricultural extension) 39.3% from Sample
individuals.
