| Abstract |
Two different adjuvants (alhydragel 20 and Montanide ISA206) were used as adjuvants for FMD vaccine and evaluated immunologically in buffalo calves. The immune response of vaccinated buffalo calve with the prepared FMD vaccine revealed that the humoral antibodies were detected after one week, reached a protective level at the 3rd week post vaccination using either vaccine . Using SNT and ELISA, it was found that the highest level of FMD antibodies was obtained at 4th and 16th weeks post vaccination respectively. Also , ISA206 in FMD vaccine resulted in higher level of cell mediated immunity than the gel. ISA206 showed longer protection period (30weeks) than that induced by the gel vaccine (12weeks). So, it could be recommended to use ISA206 as an adjuvant to FMD vaccine.
