| Abstract |
This experiment was carried out to evaluate the effect of extruded rice bran (ERB) and brown rice (BR) on blood gluose. Male rats were fed diets containing extruded rice bran (ERB) ANDBROWN RICE (br) AT 205% AND 5% , LEVELS FOR FIVE WEEKS .dIETS CONTAINED 5%cellulose , 10% casein , 10%corn oil , 1%vit . Mix. And 4% salt mix . After five weeks , rats fed (ERB) and (BR ) SHOWED SINIFICANTLY LOWER SERUM VLOOD GLUCOSE THAN NEGATIVE CONTROL (NC) . (ERB) AT 205% AND 5 % SHOWED the best hypoglycemic effect than brown rice at the same level .Serum total cholesterol ,total lipid and triglycerides were significantly lower than in those fed NC diet. Urea, creatinine , aspartate transferase (AST) and alanine transferase (ALT) were lower in experimental rats than NC.
