| Abstract |
The present study has been designated to assay the immune status of lambs born to ewes vaccinated with ISA 206 oil and alhydragel bivalent foot and mouth disease vaccines 2-3 months before parturition. Estimation of the maternal antibodies in lambs was performed weekly till their titer declined using serum neutralization test (SNT) and enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). This study recommended the vaccination of newborn lambs with ISA 206 oil adjuvanted bivalent FMD vaccine at 3 months of age while in lambs born from alhyderagel FMD vaccinated dams at 2 months to protect them against the infection with FMD vaccinated dams at 2 months to protect them against the infection with FMDV (strain”O” and “A”).
