Abstract The present study was conducted to investigate the effect of feed restriction system on some reproductive, productive traits, as well as, some blood constituents of New Zealand White (NZW) doe rabbits and also, growth traits of their offspring. A total 45 NZW does were divided into three groups and received rabbit pellets as follows: 140g/day (G I), 170g/day (G2) or to ad libitum (G3) for 10 days post mating then fed to ad libitum to the end of pregnancy, the study lasted for 3 parities (P1, P2 and P3). Feed intake means differed significantly (P<0.01) among all groups, where G1 was the lowest and G3 was the highest. Slight differences in means of reproductive traits among the three groups were observed with no significant differences. Does' blood constituents' means showed the same trend, but means of total lipids, phosphors and alkaline phosphates had significant (P<0.01) differences. Bunnies post weaning means of growth traits and feed intake didn't differ significantly. Parity order had a significant (P<0.01) effect on total feed intake and most of does reproductive traits, where the P3 was the highest, but there was a notable increase of bunnies pre-weaning mortality at P1. As for blood constituents of does, only total lipids mean was affected by parity order, where the PI was higher than the other two parities. Parity order had significant (P<0.01) effect on all bunnies post weaning means of some growth traits and feed intake of bunnies, except for mean weight at marketing and post weaning mortality. In conclusion, feed restriction system, during early gestation period had no harmful effect on does reproductive and productive performance or post weaning growth performance of their bunnies. Also, total feed intake, during whole pregnancy for G1 was lower by 4.9% G3, which reduce the cost and increase the profit, under environmental Egyptian conditions. Key Words: Feed restriction, doe rabbits, blood constituents, parity, growth traits.
