Abstract The study was conducted in the Department of Animal Production Faculty of Agriculture, Zagazig University, Zagazig, Egypt. The practical work was carried out at Inshas Poultry Research Farm belonging to Animal Production Research Institute, Agriculture Research Center, Ministry of Agriculture, Cairo, Egypt. Twelve experimental groups from each sex (male and female) of Silver Montazah were used in the present study. The first three groups were fed on the diet without lead, while the second three groups fed on the diet contaminated with 250 mg lead / kg diet, the third three groups fed on the diet contaminated with 500 mg lead, the other three groups fed on the diet supplemented with 1000 mg lead. Within each lead level, the first group was fed on the diet without any supplementation, the second group fed on the diet supplemented with 3% natural clay, while the third group fed diet supplemented with 200 mg vitamin E / kg diet. Feeding birds on contaminated diets with lead reduced growth rate, egg production and fertility. Clay or vitamin E supplementation on contaminated diets reduced the lead toxicity.
