Abstract The population abundance of the cotton aphid Aphis gossypii infesting summer plantation of pepper and the tomato whitefly Bemisia tabaci nymphs on nili plantation of bean, were estimated during 2008 and 2009, in Qalubia Governorate. In addition, the counts of common predators on pepper and the percentages of B. tabaci parasitism were studied. On the mentioned pests, counts of predators and the percentages of parasitism on B. tabaci individuals were corresponding with the population densities of A. gossypii infesting pepper plants and B. tabaci nymphs infesting bean plants, respectively; i.e., a positive correlation in densities between the three common predators (Chrysoperla carnea, Coccinella undecimpunctata and Scymnus sp.) in relation to their main prey (A. gossypii) and between the parasitoid Eretmocerus mundus and its host (B. tabaci) was obtained. These bioagents are expected to proof of great value in the applied biological control (if mass reared and released on the mentioned vegetable crop plants) of the two concerned pest species
