تأثير بعض طرق المكافحة الامنة ضد خنفساء السجاير

| Abstract |
The dry clove buds of clove (Syzyjium aromaticum (L.) , as powder and extract was evaluated for its possible contact and fumigant activities against the cigarette beetle ,Lasioderma serricorne(L.) adults . Also the effects of four different low temperature : 10,5,0.0,and -5C° for various exposure periods : 1,2,3,5and 7dayes were also investigated against the tested insects species as safe control methods. Adult mortality (%) increased with rising both concentration and exposure period for the powder and the extract at 10%, the powder indicated higher reduction of the adult emergence (80%). The clove extract was more effective as dry film than mixing with the insect food because of a complete mortality occurred after two days using 10% as oily film while reached 70% when the same concentration was mixed with the insect food and after 7 days .The persistent effect of the extract after 3 months indicated less activity compared with the first month . Exposing adults for three days at -5C° caused complete adult mortality and complete inhabitation of the adult emergency . The tested method
in the present study could help to reduce L. serricorne infestation by decreasing its reproduction and population with a high safety than chemical control.
