Abstract |
Twenty- four male Friesian calves of 187/kg average live body weight (LBW) were divided into four groups. Animals were fed according to NRC (1984) allowance (T1), animal heat girth (HG) x 0.028 (T2), animal (HG)x 0.032 (T3) and animal HG)x0.034 (T4). No significant differences were observed among treatments in nutrients digestibility and blood parameters. Daily weight gain in T3 (Factor of 0.032) was non significant higher than other treatments, also T3 was the best treatment in feed conversion and economic efficiency. Every cm of HG in T3 consumed 0.063, 0.053, 0.006, 0.026 and 0.033 kg/cm from DM, OM, CP, SE and TDN, respectively. Also the results showed that every one kg of HG: 15.8, 18.9, 166.2,38.4 and 30.0, respectively. Therefore, the nutrients requirements of male Friesian calves can be determined by the following equations:
DM requirement (kg)= Animal HG x0.063
OM requirement (kg)= Animal HGx0.053
CP requirement (kg)= Animal HG x 0.006
SE requirement (kg)= Animal HG x 0.026
TDN requirement (kg)= Animal HG x 0.033
Or
DM requirement (kg)= Animal HG/15.8
OM requirement (kg)= Animal HG/18.9
CP requirement (kg)= Animal HG/166.2
SE requirement (kg)= Animal HG/38.4
TDN requirement (kg)= Animal HG/30.0
