Abstract The total numbers of spiders sampled by using pitfall traps in cucumber cultivation treated with three types of bio-fertilizers : Effective Micro- organisms, Trace-elements, and their mixture , were compared to throw some light on the effect of these fertilizers which seem to be one of the most critical factors for determining habitat preference of spider. This work was carried out over a period of three months. Samples were taken weekly from the three treatments and the control; the pitfall traps resulted in the occurrence of 322 spiders belonging to 8 families, 14genera and at least 15 species. The mixture treatment presented the largest population size of the soil spiders (101 individuals) followed by the effective microorganisms treatment (86 individuals) , then the trace-elements treatment ( 76 individuals), while the untreated gave the least collection, (59 individuals) . The activity of wolf spiders significantly depends on the intensity of field management practices, including pest spraying times, fertilizer management .The community composition during the period of study was determined using the Shannon-Wiener Index of diversity, the EM treatment had a higher diversity index and the Trace-Elements treatment had the lowest diversity Index
