Abstract Control of the two spotted spider mite, Tetranychua cucurbitacearum (Sayed) using the conventional acaricides resulted many problems. So, this study was carried out to evaluate the effect of three environmentally safe compounds; two mineral oils ( Alkanz 2000 and Natcom 20/5 )and one bioagent ( Agerin ) in addition to the conventional acaricide ; Baroque against T. cucurbitacearum under laboratory and field conditions at Sakha Agric. Res. Station, Kafr El-Sheikh. The study also, involved the effect of the median lethal concentrations of the tested compounds on some biological aspects of T. cucurbitacearum. - The laboratory results indicated that Baroque was the most toxic compound followed by Agerin, while Natcom 20/5 was the least toxic one. Alkanz 2000 had a moderate toxic effect. The population showed more homogeneity in its response to the tested mineral oils. The results also, showed that the high reduction in hatchability of produced eggs (59.70%) was found when females of T. cucurbitacearum treated with LC 50 value of Natcom 20/5, while the lowest reduction ( 14.21%) was obtained in case of the treatment with LC50 of Alkanz 2000. The treatment of T. cucurbitacearum females with LC50 values of the tested compounds prolonged of total immature stages and the duration of life cycle. - The field results revealed that eggs of T. cucurbitacearum were less susceptible to action of the tested compounds than motile stages on soybean plants. Also, Baroque was the most effective compound, while Agerin was the least effective one. The mineral oils: Natcom 20/5 and Alkanz 2000 exhibited satisfactory population reduction. Thus, these mineral oils as environmentally safe compounds can be used in T. cucurbitacearum management on soybean plants.
