Abstract Studies on the seasonal fluctuations of Pulvinaria psidii Maskell and its associated parasitoid on guava trees were carried out in Kafr Saker district, Sharkia Governorate during three years,1999, 2000 and 2001. The obtained results revealed that: The total number of alive stages in both outer and inner zones of the trees during these periods were 80764 and 79644 individuals, respectively. Three peaks of activity were noticed during the first and second years in both outer and inner zones. While, only two peaks were recorded in the third year. The total number of immature stages in both outer and inner zones during the same periods were 79330 and 76296 nymphs, successively. Metaphycus zebratus (Mercet) was recorded as an effective parasitoid on P. psidii. The total effects of abiotic factors (Temp.ºc, R.H. % & sun shine hrs.) under studies on the total number of alive stages of P. psidii in outer and inner zones were 82.4, 53.4 & 22.1 % and 79.3, 81.3 & 17.1 %, successively.
