Seasonal abundance of Hemiberlesia lataniae (Signoret) and its associated parasitoids on guava trees

| Abstract |
The seasonal abundance of Hemiberlesia lataniae (Signoret) and its associated parasitoids on guava trees was studied in Hannout village, Kafr Saker district, Sharkia Governorate during 1999, 2000 and 2001 successive years. The obtained results were summarized as follows:
1. Females population showed two peaks in outer zones of the trees, while in inner ones, the number of peaks was varied from 1 to 3.
2. Nymphs population appeared 1-2 peaks in outer zones and 1-3 in inner ones.
3. Alive stages showed 1-2 and 2-3 peaks in outer and inner zones, respectively.
4. The highest mean percentage of total mortality (58.533 %) in outer zone was recorded during the third year. While in inner zone, the corresponding value (55.848 %) was obtained during the first year.
5. The mean percentage of parasitism in outer zone was relatively higher in the third year (15.554 %), followed by the second (14.770 %) and first (4.983 %) ones. While, the highest mean percentage of parasitism in inner zone (14.632 %) was detected during the third year, followed by the second (13.648 %) and first (6.096 %) ones.
6. In outer zone, E.V. affected the total number of alive stages by 87.5, 59.1 and 52.6 % during the first, second and third years, successively. While in inner zone, the corresponding values were 83.1, 31.4 and 53.4 % during the three successive years, respectively.
7. E.V. influenced percentage of parasitism by 45.1, 55.4 and 70.2 % in outer zone during the first, second and third years, successively. The corresponding values in inner zone were 38.6, 64.4 and 86.8 % during the three successive years, consecutively.
