Abstract |
A comparison measurements between the entomopathogenic nematode Heterorhabditis bacteriophora mutant discovered in 1997 and that after ten years in 2007 were done. It was found that a significant more reduction in length and width in the hermaphrodite of the mutant 2007 than that discovered in 1997 (29.65% and 21.74%) and ( 19.89% and11.25%), respectively. The mutant amphimictic female (2007) became shorter and wider than the mutant of 1997 (1755 µm ± 49.15 , 1899.00µm ±0.29 and 158.4µm ±18.35 ,109.07µm ±16.12), respectively. A significant increase in length of the mutant male 2007 than the mutant male 1997 (815.90µm ± 19.399 and 650.32µm ±49.06) was obtained. A high significant increase in width of the mutant male 2007 than that of 1997 and that of the wild type (66.76µm) was also shown. Infectivity of the normal type (96.9%) insignificantly was higher than that of the mutant (93.3%). The penetration rate of the normal type was significantly higher than that of the mutant (11±0.8 and 6±2.26).
