Occurrence of mite species associated with stored products in Egypt

| Abstract |
Ninety-three of mites belonging to 53 genera, 26 families and four suborders were recorded in association with stored products at 16 Egyptian governorates during October 2000 to October 2002. The suborder Acaridida was presented by the families Acaridae, Chortoglyphidae, Glycyphagidae, Pyroglyphidae and Suidasidae. The Suborder Actinedida was represented by Calligonellidae, Raphignathidae, Stigmaeidae, Bdellidae, Cunaxidae, Cheyletidae, Euopodidae, Pyemotidae, Acarophenacidae, Scutacaridae, Tarsonemidae and Tydeidae. The suborder Gamasida was recorded by the families Amerosiidae, Ascidae, Laelapidae, Ologamasidae, Macrochelidae, Pachylaelapidae and Uropodidae. The suborder Oribatida was represented in this stuy by the families Oribatulidae and Oppiidae.
