Abstract Three new acarid mite species were collected from soil, at different localities in Dakahlia and Sharkia Governorates. The new acarid speci€s were described morphologically and illustrated for the first time in Egypt, measurements in microns were given. The three species were named as followed Tyrophagus linosimilist, Aleuroglyphus ovatosimilis and Ctenoglyphus intermediosimilis. The effection of five types of diets on the growth, development and fecundity of every mite species were investigated in details. The mite Tyrophagus linosimilis prefers feeding on organic matter than feeding on the four fungal species, Penicillium sp, Aspergillus sp, Rhizopus Alternaria sp. The biological activities, development and durations of the second mite species Aleuroglyphus ovatosimilis were affected by variations in types of experimented diets. The mite A. ovatosimills prefers feeding on organic matter than on the fungus Penicillium sp , Aspergillus sp , Alternaria sp and Rhizopus sp. Organic matter significa¬ntly shortened the life cycle and generation period (9.73 ± 0.21 and 12.78 ± 1.75) days in comparison with feeding on the fore mentioned fungi species.
