English : Determining economic threshold of Varroa destructor with Biopesticide strips on hybrid Carniolan (Apis mellifera carnica) in Egypt.

Abstract : During the years 2000 to 2001, ten colonies of hybrid Carniolan bees were treated with strips of botanical oils. Five colonies were left untreated without any type of pesticide as control. The correlation matrix formula used was; ? = ل + b1x1 + b2 x2 + b3 x3 + b4 x4 where ل = constant, x1 = the number of dead mites, x2 = the number of Varroa on 50 live bees, x3 = the number of Varroa on 10 worker brood, x4 = the number of Varroa on 10 drone brood, and ? = The number of combs covered with bees. Biopesticide strips achieved the following matrices; In the summer, ? = 8.061598 + 0.001201 x1 + 0.63147 x2 + 10551 x3 + 0.063592 x4; as example while the matrices for the control were, In the summer, ? = 7.988 + 0.00511 x1 + 0.2523 x2 + 0.05586 x 3 + 0.04895 x 4. Matrices differed according to location and season in all parameters as above. The application of the correlation matrix formula was valid for all colonies.
