English : Essential oils via feeding syrups for hybrid of Apis mellifera carnica to control Varoa mite (Varroa destructor) through biological aspects on drone brood during spring
Arabic : دراسة الصفات البيولوجية تحت تأثير الزيوت الاساسية المضافة للمحلول السكري لتغذية نحل العسل لمكافحة طفيل الفاروا
Abstract Four groups of ten honey bee colonies were tested throughout the work of this investigation, during spring of 2002. Colonies were nearly similar in their strength and each was weekly provided with adding 1.5 ml from oil to 98.5 sugar solution. Oils added were black cumin for the first group, jasmine for the second, mixture of neem, black cumin and jasmine for the third, and the fourth group left as control. Effect of essential oils on level of infestation, parasitism intensity, pre- oviposition period, female fecundity, period of development and reproductive sequence were studied. Female without offspring increased with ratios 80.8, 18.8 and 19.5% compared with control 6.8%, respectively. Highly significant variance between all treatments was found. Also, the effects of these essential oils via feeding syrups on biological aspects of Varroa destructor were measured
