Abstract |
The biology of the predatory mite, Coleoscirus simplex (Ewing)” (Sub-order: Actinedida) was studied under laboratory conditions. All the developmental stages were described. The mean duration of the total immature stages of C. simplex from larva to titonymph was 8±1 days for female and 7±1 days for male. After the quiescent period the adult emerged reached to the adulthood in a period of average 1.5±0.7 days and 1.7±0.4 days for female and male, respectively. Normally, the adults predators were active, the color of male is completely orange , while the adult female has the gnathosoma usually darker in color than legs which in turn darker than idiosoma. The male usually smaller in size than female. One pair of eye occurs as red spots, one eye on each side. Life table data indicated the following results : The generation time was considered as 14.3 days; the sex ratio was (female / Total) 0.55; the fraction of eggs reaching maturity 0.9; the sum of RML=1.000002; The net reproductive rate Ro = 64.97401; The mean generation time T in observed intervals= 25.3599; the intrinsic rate of natural increase (rm)= 0.164950; the finite rate of increase erm= 1017891.
