English : Evaluation of probiotic (EMMH) as a growth promoter for Nile Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) fingerlings
Arabic : تقييم مركب (EMMH) كمنشط للنمو في علائق اصبعيات البلطى النيلى
Abstract This study was carried out to evaluate the effect of the probiotic (EMMH) as a growth promoter on growth performance, feed utilization , parameters and apparent digestibility coefficient (ADC) of mono sex Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) fingerlings. The viable test contents were determined by counting the Colony Forming Unit (CFU) to indicate the viability of this growth promoter. Four treatments (0, 150, 300 and 450 mg kg-1) in the te3ted diets were applied in 12 glass aquarium in three replicates each. Fish were randomly distributed at 10 fish aquarium and fed basal diet (CP 30%) for 16 weeks at a daily rate 3% body weight, twice per day for six day/week. At the end of the experimental period, the best growth performance, feed utilization parameters and ADC were obtained by fish fed diet supplemented with high level (450 mg kg-I) of promoter followed by 300 mg kg-1 then 150 mg kg-1 compared with the control group which was not supplemented with the tested growth promoter. The results indicate that (EMMH) product is promising growth enhancer at level 450 mg kg-I to obtain best growth performance, feed utilization and ADC for Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) fingerlings. Keywords: growth promoter, Oreochromis niloticus probiotics, performance, feed utilization.
