Titles
English : Seasonal variations in body reactons, hematological and serum biochemical parameters in Barki and Awassi rams under subtropical conditions
Abstract Fifteen ram five each of Barki, Awassi (I imported from Syria) and Awassi ('LB', locally born in Egypt) were used in this study. Results indicated significant (P<0.01) seasonal variations in rectal temperature (RT), skin temperature (ST), coat temperature (CT). respiration rate (RR) and pulse rate (PR). Also, there were significant differences between breeds in RT. RR and PR, and significant interaction between month and breed was recorded only for PR. There were significant effects. of season on blood hemoglobin (Hb), packed cell volume (PCV), mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration (MCHC). total protein (TP), albumin (A), globuline (G), A/G ratio, total lipids, cholesterol, glucose. alanine amino transferase (ALT), aspartate. amino transferase (AST) and AST/ALT ratio. Breed significantly affected all the parameters studied except that of MCHC, A, AST, ALT and AST/ALT The interaction effect between month and breed was not significant on all blood parameters studied except for PCV, MCHC and TP which was significant (P<0.05).
