Abstract Forty five New Zealand White rabbits (NZW) growing rabbits were divided into five groups of average aged 6 weeks and weight (623.98g). The animals recorded a control diet (TI) was based on berseem hay as the main source of fiber whereas other diets contained 15% of untreated peanut hull (T2) or 15% of peanut hull with supplementation of 2% bentonite over the total contents of diets (T3) or 15% of ureated peanut hull with 4% urea solution (T4) and 15% of ureated peanut hull + 2% bentonite over the total contents of diets (T5). All the diets were iso caloric and iso nitrogenous and fed to rabbits during 8 weeks. At the end of feeding trials 3 rabbits of each treatment were individually housed for digestibility trials and the same rabbits were slaughtered for carcass characteristics. The results indicated that urea treatment increased CP percentage and decreased CF percentage of peanut hulls. There were significant differences (P<0.05) between groups in daily weight gain, feed consumption and feed conversion, rabbits fed control diet had the best values whereas the worst values were for rabbits fed T2. DMD, OMD, EED, NFED and TDN while, were not differed significantly whereas CFD and CPD values differed significantly (P<0.05) between groups. Dressing percentage values did not differed significantly. Bentonite supplementation and urea treatment improved economic efficiency of diets whereas urea treatment plus bentionite was the best economically. It could be concluded that peanut hulls may be replaced instead of berseem hay in rabbit diets and bentonite supplementation or urea treatment had bendicial effects on their performance and a feasible economic efficiency under the farming feeding condition in Egypt. Keywords: growth, digestibility, peanll1 hull, urea treatment, rabbits, bentonite.
