Abstract |
Seventy five one-humped adult camels of different age (3-10 years) and sexes were examined at one farm on Marsa Matroh Governorate. 35 of them were suffering from skin affections such as papular, pustular, suppurative and ulcerations dermatitis on neck and thigh region. This dermal infection was accompanied by decreasing body weights and decrease in milk in farm she camels.
The predominant microorganisms isolated from skin lesions were Stapphaureus. The biochemical examinations pointed out an increase in gamma glutamyl transferase, alkaline phosphatase, alanine aminotransferase aspartate aminotransferase, albumin, urea, uric acid and creatinine levels Histopathological examinations revealed ulcerations of skin, inflammatory cell in the dermis and hypodermis, cuffing of dermal vasculator with round cell and hemorrhage between the epithelial cells lining the epidermis. It could be concluded that the most frequent skin affections of camels were papulur, suppurative and ulcerative dermatitis followed skin injures.
