English : A Study of Correlates and Determinants of Agricultural Modernization Among Local Leaders and Farmers in Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate
Arabic : دراسة العوامل المرتبطة والمحددة للتحديث الزراعى بين الزراع والقادة المحليين فى محافظة كفر الشيخ
Abstract This study aims at identifying the factors that are related, determined and more effective in explaining the variance in agricultural modernization and its components. Data were collected using interview schedules from 100 farmers selected randomly and 100 local leaders selected positively from three villages in Alien district, Kafr El-Sheikh governorate. The data were coded, tabulated, and statistically analyzed using T-test, reliability, correlation coefficient, Multiple regression and step-wise regression. The major results of this study could be summarized as follows: 1-There were significant differences between local leaders and farmers in respects of agricultural modernization. 2-Results of multiply; regression and step-wise regression revealed that: a)The sixteen independent variables involved in the study together explained about 49.6% of the observed Varian in leaders modernity. b)The independent variables of the study explained about 38.1% of the variance in the farmers modernity. c)The independent variables of the study explained about 34.5% of the variance in leaders' farm modernization. d)The independent variables of this study explained about 33% of the variance in fanners' farm modernization. e)The independent variables explained about 45% of variance in leaders' agricultural modernization measure. f)The independent variables explained about 36.7% of the variance in farmers' agricultural modernization mearine.
