English : The effect of Dimethyl dioctadecyl ammounioum Bromide (DDA) with BCG in laboratory animals experimentally infected with salmonelaa Typhimurium
Abstract Immunoadjuvant effect od Dimethyl Dioctadecyl Ammoniuom bromide (DDA) was evaluated on laboratory animals immunized with BCG. Guinea pigs and mice were calssified into 7 groups, the first four groups were immunized with living attenuated BCG (BCG-LA), BCG culture filtrate (BCG-CF), heat killed BCG (BCG-HK) and (DDA) respectively. The 5th group was immunized with (DDA+BCG+HK) while the 6th group was immunized with (DDA+BCG+CF) respectively. The last group was left as control non immunized animals. All immunized laboratory animals developed clear cell mediated immunity rather than control groups. The cell mediate immune response is more pronounced in immunized mice than guinea pigs. The humoral antibody response in guinea pigs was recorded higher (1/160) in groups (1 and 5), while in mice groups , the level of antibody was observed higher (1/320) in group (5) and noted (1/160) in groups (1.2.3 and 6). All control laboratory animals of both species died after challenge with Salmonella typhimurium virulent strain. In guinea pigs the survival rate was detected higher (70%) in groups (1and5) , while it was (60%) in groups (2and6) and (40%) in groups (3and4). On the other side the survival rate in mice groups was recorded higher(80%) in group (5) , (75%) in groups (1and2), (65%) in group (6), while it was (60% and 55%) in groups (3and4) respectively. The isolation of S.typhimurium was recorded negative (-ve) I guinea pigs in groups (1,5 and6) and in mice in groups (1,2,5 and6). The control group in both species gave high positive result (+ + + + ve).
