Role of bio-mos versus copper sulfate on rabbit performance and blood chemistry

Abstract |
Forty New Zealand White rabbits, 35 days of age and 665 g average body weight were assigned to four experimental groups, fed on four diets supplemented as follow: 0 supplementation as a control group ( c), 1g Bio-Mos/Kg diet ( Mos), 100 ppm cuso4 /kg diet ( cu) and 1g Bio- Mos + 100ppm cuso4 /kg diet ( Mos+ cu) for treatment 1, 2, 3 and 4, respectively.
Body weight and feed intake were recorded weekly. At the end of the experimental period (8 weeks ), four rabbits from each group were sacrificed for carcass traits and the blood samples were collected for total protein (TP), Albumin, GOT, GPT, HT, Hb, urea-N, createnin analysis and white blood cell differentials were counted.
Results should that addition of Bio- Mos gave the highest body weight, body gain, feed intake and the best dressing %, Mos + Cu group comes in second place. The same trend was observed for the Ht, Hb,Tp, GOT, GPT, createnine and lymphocytes type. Cu group recorded the best Albumin/ globulin ratio followed by Mos+ Cu group. It can be conclude that there is no additive effect between Mos and Cu, but a possible synergism between them is an important aspects of this trail and we can use both of them to get the own benefits of each, which we believe that they are some what different.
