Abstract |
The current study on Border Disease virus (BDV) in sheep were discussed to clarify the economic importance of such problem representative in BDV as an immunosuppressive agent and / or the persistently infection among sheep flocks in Egypt. Se-rodiagnosis for milk and serum samples as body fluids containing antibodies against BDV were examined by virus neutralization test (VNT) and ELISA technique. The study was carried out in Giza and Dakahalia Governorates. The presence of BDV antibodies in examined milk and serum samples refers that the disease endemic among sheep flocks in Egypt. The percentage of seropositive milk samples were 13.04% and 14.13% by VNT and ELISA respectively, whereas in serum samples were 15.21% and 21.73% by VNT and ELSA respectively. The tabulated results, diagnosis, tests comparison and disease control are discussed.
