English : Clinico-pathological studies on aborted and dead cases of foreign breed pregnant does in correlation with the aetiological agents

Abstract A total of sixty case (fiteen pregnant dead and forty five aborted live does ) were examined to detemine the possible causes of abortion in foreign breed rabbits during summer climate of Egypt (July and August ). Vaginal smears and blood samples of live aborted does were subjected to bacteriological and clinicpathological investigations. The internal organs of pregnant dead cases were examined bacteriologically aas well as histopathologically. Bacterial cultures and serum chemistry of blood in live aborted does were not significantly affected: The bacteriology of the present study revealed that two out of forty aborted feti had Staphylococcus aureus, while in pregnant does three out of fifteen (20%) showed isolation for Staphylococcus aureus and Salmonella species. The vaginal smears and blood of live aborted des had Staphylococcus aureus and Salmonella Species and Kiebsiella in four out of forty five cases (7.3%) . microscopical examination of tissue Specimen from different organs of dead does showed in heart, liver, lung, kidney and uterus associated with suppurative endometritis, focal interstitial nephritis and venous congestion in otherorgans.
