Investment is considered one of the most important tools for developing the agriculture in Egypt. So the problem and objective of this study, focus on the distribution of investment on sectors of the economy, i.e., agriculture, industry, petroleum, electricity, construction, and services.The study concentrated on the agricultural investment, and its contribution in the national investment, and studied the effect of some variables on the agricultural investment.The study used the simple and multiple regression for achieving the these objectives, The data were collected from different sources, to cover the period subject to study (1985-2003).Results of the study showed that the services and commodities sectors contribute by about 50% of the total national investments, Also the agricultural sector came in the second class among studied sectors in its contribution to national investment.The agricultural investment function displayed that interest rate and agricultural imports affected adversely on decreasing agricultural investment, while reclamation of lands has a positive effect. The study recommends increasing agricultural investment, for fulfillment of requirements of agricultural development, by decreasing interest rate.
