Arabic : النشاط اليومي والخسائر التي يسببها قوقع ايوبانيا فيرميكيولاتا فغي بساتين الموالح
Abstract Activity of Eobania vermiculata snails was determined during day hours in Inshas locality, Sharkia Governorate at four seasons i.e. autumn, winter, spring and summer. Results revealed that the activity periods were found at night hours. On the other hand, few snail numbers were noticed in active state during day hours in spring season. The main periods of snail activity were detected between 4 to 6 O’clock either on soil or trunk of navel orange trees. In autumn and winter seasons the majority of active snails were noticed on soil, but the opposite was true in spring season, since the majority of active snails were noticed on trunk of navel orange trees. As for damage caused by E. vermiculata snails on citrus leaves (naveí and baladi orange). The snails prefer navel orange leaves in its feeding where damage percentage was 35.80 in bottom level, while it reached 15.88 only in baladi leaves for the same level. In the case of heavy infestation the snails were noticed in all tree levels.
