Arabic : تقييم بعض المركبات ضد دودة ورق القطن في المعمل
Abstract Tracer 24% S.C., a new biochemical product derived of Spinosad beside the known biological agents: Bio-Ranza 10%W.P. (Metarhizium anisopliae) and Biover 10% W.P. (Beauveria bassiana) which are used as fungicide agents, and Fars 5% EC. an antimolting compound (IGR) in comparison with the chemical Insecticide Cypermethrin 10% E.C. (Pyrothroid) were evaluated on the Cotton leafworm Spodoptera littoralis (Boisd.) (Lepidoptera, Noctuidae). The 2nd larval instar was more sensitive than the 4th larval one for all tested compounds and the toxic effect of the tested compounds was instar dependent. Tracer 24% used at a rate of 17.5 and 35 or 70 ml/feddan could be recommended to give complete protection on the 2nd and 4th larval instars of S. littoralis, respectively. Tracer 24% treatments demonstrate very clear differences in larval size even for the same larval instars compared to different treatments. The metamorphosis showed varied mortality and deformation of prepupae, pupae, and malformation of moths for Tracer treatments. The apparently normal moths out of Tracer treatments were small in size and laid limited number of tiny sterile egg masses. Also, feeding on the lowest rate of Tracer revealed no developmental parameters for the larvae, involving no extra generations are yielded. The antimolting agent Fars 5% revealed complete mortality for the 2nd and 4th instar larvae even with the lowest rate 40ml/ feddan. The chemical insecticide Cypermethrin 10% also, showed complete mortality for the 2nd and 4th instar larvae with the lowest rate 200 ml/ feddan. The pathogens fungi Mover and Bio-Ranza failed to give a satisfactory control measures even with the high rate (4000 gm/ feddan) for both the 2nd and 4th instar larvae of S. littoralis.
