English : Histopathological effects of certain chemical insecticides and bacterial biocides on larval tissues of the black cutwarm, Agrotis ipsilon (Hufn.) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae)
Abstract Each group of the used biological and chemical insecticides has elicited its own particular pattern of pathological changes. The digestive, muscular siptams and Malpighian tubules as well as fat tissue are the sites that mainly affected by both treatments. The destruction of the digestive system by either OP's compounds or bacterial formulations included exfolation of mid gut epithelium from its basement membrane which is completely destroyed. As a result of treatment with the used compounds, the muscles loosed their normal turgid appearance of fissures by being torn into separate parts. Serious degeneration in size and shape of Malpighian tubules were found after treatment with either OP's compounds or bacterial blocides. Also serious degeneration in the nuclei of cells were observed.
