Abstract |
Laboratory experiments were conducted to evaluate the efficiency of the¬ two insect growth regulators, methoprene (isapropy 1 (E, E) - 11-methoxy¬3, 7, 11-trimethyl -24-dodecadienoate), Dowo 439, 1-(4 (2,2-dichloro-1, 1 difluoro (ethoxy phenyl) 1-2-3-chlorobenzoyl) urea and the bacteria. Bacillus thruringiensis var. Kurstaki against the black cutworm, Agrotis ipsilon (Hufn:).
The three compounds had acute and chronic toxicity which appeared later during the subsequent stages. Pupation and adult emergence were greatly in¬hibited. High percentages of the produced pupae and adults were malformed., Pupal weight was also reduced.
Results showed the possibility of using these control agents in an integrated control program against this pest.
