Abstract |
The bioactivity of the commercial Bacillus thuringiensis namely Dipel x2 and an insect growth regulator ( IGR ) namely Dowco 439 were laboratory evaluated on the neonate larvae of Agrotis ipsilon (Hufn.) through two different methods . The first method was by mixing the selected dose of either the biocide or the IGR campound with the artificial diet, while the second one was by contaminating only the surface of the diet with the selected dose of the tested compounds.
Results indicated that the surface contaminating method with either B.thuringiensis or the IGR, Dowco 439, proved to be comparatively more effective than the other technique used. Various biological aspects concerning with the larval, pupal, and adult stages were reported . Mortality (100%)was .achieved by using any of the above products through the surface treatment .
