English : Host range and distribution of genus Aphytis (Hymenoptera: Aphelinidae) as a parasitoid of armored scale insects (Homoptera: Diaspididae) in Egypt

Abstract Genus Aphytis Howard is an ectoparasitiod of armored scale insects and widely known as effective biological control agent in Egypt. Twenty two species of the genus Aphytis were recorded as a parasitoids of twenty species of armored scale insects. A, chrysomphali (Mercet) and A.mytilaspidis (Le Baron) were recorded as a parasitoids with the largest range of species of armored scale insects (5 species). Many species of Aphytis were recorded as a parasitoids of specific species of armored scale insects.
