English : Biological and prediction studies on the two Acarine predators Lasioseius sewainasr & abou awad and Blattisocius keeganifox fed on the grain mite Tyrophagus putrescentiae(Acari: Acaridae)

Abstract Biological studies were carried out on two predator mites Lasioseius sewai Nasr & Abou Awad and Blattisocius keegani Fox (Acari : Ascidae : Gamasida) fed on the larvae of the Tyrophagus putrescentiae as a prey under laboratory conditions at constant temperature of 25°C±2 and 60-65 % R.H. The biological aspects of the predator mites were studied as follows: Durations of life cycle, generation and life span of females and males were counted. In addition to female pre-oviposition, ovipositian and post-oviposition periods, total number of deposited eggs of females, food consumptions and life table parameters. Whereas life cycle lasted 9.4 and 10.9 days for the predator mites L, sewai and B. keegani ,respectivly. Female pre-oviposition, oviposition and post¬oviposition periods durated (2.6 & 2.1) (33.0 & 30.0) and ( 6.1 & 5.0 ) days and deposited an average of ( 32.2 & 29.3) eggs with a daily rate of ( 0.97 & 0.9) eggs for the two predators at the same trend. Female of L. sewai and B. keegani destroyed an average number of prey (105.4 & 97.5) during life span with a daily rate of (11.7 & 7.4 ) prey at the same trend. On the other hand, life table parameters as a prediction study were carriad out as follows: female progeny/female (Mx), rate of survival (Lx), developmental time, fraction of eggs reaching maturity, sex ratio, net reproductive rate (Ro), generation time (T), intrinsic rate of natural increase (rm) and finit rate of increase (erm) doubling time (DT) and the time to 50% mortality were estimated
