English : Knowledge Level for Agricultural Extension Workers to Some Information's and Specific Treatments of Agricultural Wastes Recycling in Some Governorates of Egypt

Abstract The main objectives of this were to determin knowledge level of the gricultural extension workers concerning some informations and specific treatments of agricultural wastes recycling for preparing both of compost, silage, and rennin with determining the relation of this level with some studied independent variables and identifing the most important problems that face the agricultural extension workers in extension workers with farmers concerning agricultural wastes recycling. Data of this research were collected by using questionnaire pretested and personal interview during April and May 2007 from sample of 213 agricultural extension workers. This sample was chosen from El-Sharkiya, Sohag, and El-Menia by regular random method from gricultural extension workers records at the chosen agricultural administrations Range, Average, Chi square, Simple Correlation cafficeant, in addition to table show by frequency and percentages were used for showing data and analyzing it statistically. The most important results were concluded as follows: (1)- 60.56%, 64.32%, 90.14% of the respondents were not trained to prepare compost, silage, and rennin respectively. 59.16% of respondents had moderate attitude toword extension work in agricultural wastes recycling, while the attitude of 24.88 % of them was strong, and 15.96 % of them their attitude was weak, (2)- The total knowledge level of the agricultural extension workers concerning recycling of the studied agricultural wastes was ( moderate) generally with Average of knowledge 21.46 Equated relative Average 49.9 % and also it was (moderate) concerning preparing compost, silage and the rennin with knowledge Average degree of 8.36, 6.25, 6.85 degree equated relative Average 52.2 %, 62.5 %, 40.3 % respectively, (3)- There was direct significant relation at level of 0.01 between the total knowledge level of the respondents concerning preparing compost, silage and rennin and both of: attitude toward extension work in agricultural wastes recycling, training to recycle the agricultural wastes generally, and training to prepare both of silage and compost specially, (4)- The most important problems that faced the respondents during their agricultural extension work with farmers concerning recycling agricultural wastes were: less number of training courses, non spending of financial promotions for the agricultural extension workers, and less extension pumphlets and scientific agricultural magazines in recycling agricultural wastes. In the light of research results it was possible to put some recommendations to increase the level of the knowledge of the agricultural extension workers concerning preparing the compost, silage and the rennin.
