English : The Degree of Knowledge Training Need of The Extensionworkers in The Field of Fish Cultivation in Rice Field in Some Districts of kafr el-shekih Governorate

Abstract The main objective of this research was to identifying the degree of knowledge training need of the extension workers in the field of fish cultivation in rice fields in some districts of Kafr El-Sheikh governorate. Data were collected by personal interviewes using a questionnaire from a random sample amounted to 194 respondents represented about 45% of the total number of the extension workers in three districts, i.e. Desouk, Fowah and El-Reyad and which selected randomly .Standard deviation, means , and percentages were used to explain data statistically, in addition to table of frequencies. The main results of this research were: 1 - 66.5% of the respondents were medium qualification, 85.1 % did not study neither extension nor animal production courses, and equal percent of respondents were medium or short period in extension work, 94.3% of total respondents did not train in the field of fish cultivation in rice field, utilization degree of 79.4% of total respondents from the information sources was low and medium in the field offish cultivation in rice fields. 2-17.5% of respondents got low degree of knowledge training need in the field of fish cultivation, 58.8% got medium degree of training need in the field offish cultivation in the rice fields while, 23.7% got high degree of training need in this field. 3-88.6% of respondents have the desire for training in the field of fish cultivation in the rice field. 4-The main barriers of fish cultivation in rice fields mentioned by respondents were: non training is given in this field (93.3%), un availability of enough recommendations related to fish cultivation among farmers (92.8%), and death of fish as a results of using insecticides (90,2%).
