English : Comparison between some biocide and pheromone application for bollworms control on cotton in egypt
Arabic : مقارنة تطبيق بعض المبيدات الحيوية والفرمونات لمكافحة ديدان اللوز على محصول القطن في مصر
Abstract Bollworms are considered the most destructive and economic insect pests infesting cotton plants. These insect pests cause serious problems to cotton bolls as well as fiber quality. So, the present study is an attempt to test Bioside products; namely Agrin and Biofly against these insects as compared with Pheromone (Nomate) in integration with recommended insecticides during two cotton seasons of 2002 and 2003 in Beni-Suef governorate. The highest effect control method was achieved by Pheromone application in integration with recommended insecticides where the reduction rate was 73% followed by Agrin which caused reduction rate of 58%, whereas the lowest control effect was shown by Biofly where the reduction rate exhibited 25%.
