Abstract The effect of Neemazal T/S 1 % Azadirachtin (AZA) against the eggs of Pectinophora gossypiella (Saund.) and its influence on biochemical composition of larvae resulted from treated eggs were studied Treatments of pink bollworm eggs at different ages with different Neemazal TIS concentration (25, 50, 100, 200 and 400 ppm) showed that Neemazal T/S has ovicidal activity against P. gossypiella eggs. Results indicated that 60.72 % reduction of 0-1 day old eggs hatching rate treated with 400 ppm concentration according to LC50 values, the newly laid eggs are more susceptible to Neemazal than that of 1-2 days old. The obtained results showed that there was a latent effect for Neemazal T/S on some biochemical aspects of the larvae hatched from treated eggs. This influences represented in significantl increase in total protein, nucleic acids (DNA and RNA) and total lipids, while there is decrease in total carbohydrate.
