Abstract |
The study aims at determining the rural woman's knowledge bout the recommended practice for environment conversation with regard to soil, water , air , and the healthy home . In addition to their information resources about the recommended environment conversation practices , beside finding the relation between some social and economics variables of them and their knowledge about this field .
To realize the study objectives, a random sample was selected to 200 respondents of growers' wires from low village of in Sharkia governorate.
Data were collected by using a pretested question raise through a personal interview. Frequencies, percentages and simple of correlation (Person) were used for data analysis.
The study revealed that:
- the knowledge level of the respondents about the recommended practice for environment conversation was nearly high and medium in all the fields : soil, water , air , and the healthy home
- the major recommended practices which the respondents knew regarding conserving soil were: using organic fertilizer increases soil fertility, small drainages improve soil fertility, using more insecticides
pollutes the soil. And for conserving water the most practices were: to get Sid of the pesticides residues in the water canals caused the human diseases, to get rid of the dead animals and birds cause the water pollution, canal excavation.
For conserving air the most practices were: to get rid of the dead animals in open air pollute the air, burn the residues pollute the air , using petrol (kerosene) over in the closed rooms is danger on human health. For conserving healthy home the most practices were: home airing, keeping the organic fertilizer at home increase harmful flies and mosquitoes storing food in pesticides containers cause diseases.
The most important sources information of the respondents regarding conserving the environment were: T.V. rural program , neighbors , educated sons and meetings.
-It was found a significant relationship between the respondents knowledge about the environment conservation practices regarding soil: size of family , land holding , innovations, environmental actuaries participation
-For conserving water : size of family, land holding environmental activities participation
-For conserving air: No. education years, and standard of living.
-Regarding conserving healthy home: No. education years, size of family land holding , innovations and the standard of living .
Upon the study results, it is needed to plan the effective extension program to develop the rural women abilities the recommended environment conservation practices.
