English : Toxicity evaluation of three different pesticides against cotton leafworm Spodoptera littoralis (Boisid) under laboratory and field conditions at Dakahlia Governorate.
Arabic : التقييم الحقلى والمعملى لسمية ثلاثة مركبات مختلفة سواء منفردة أو مخلوطة على دودة ورق القطن بمحافظة الدقهلية
Abstract Laboratory and field experiment were conducted to determine the efficiency of Chloropyrifos 48 % EC, Abamectin 1.8 % EC and Chlorfluazuron 5 % EC with recommended and half recommended dose and its combination aaainst cotton leafworm S.littoralis ( Boisd). Data of laboratory experiments show that LC50's against 2"d and 4`" instar larvae were (0.21, 4.22 and 7.12 ppm ) and ( 2.95, 12.66 and 69.88 ppm ) for Chloropyrifos, Chlorfluazuron and Abamectin respectively. Toxicity index values of the tested compounds were (4.98, 2.95 %) and ( 23:3 , 2.2.86 %) against 2"d and 41h instar larvae respectively ( based on LC50 of Chloropyrifos 100 % ). The joint action values of the tested compounds binary mixture were (+ 83.03 and + 54.90 ), ( + 89.78 and + 43.14) and ( +92.31 and + 70.18 ) for (Chloropyrifos + Abamectin ), (Chlorofluazuron + Abamectin) and (Chloropyrifos + Chlorofluazuron) respectively. It is obvious that Chloropyrifos was the most effective followed by Chlorofluazuron and Abamectin whereac the mixture of Chloropyrifos + Chlorofluazuron 3ppeared to be the most toxic one against 2"° in, u:r larvae while the same mixture gave the highest potentiation effect (+ 70.18 ) against 4th instar larvae of S.littoralis. It is clear that the 2"d istar larvae of S.littoralis are the most susceptible to the three tested compounds either alone or in it's mixtures under laboratory conditions. Data of field experiment indicated that IGR's, Ornanophosphorus and Biocid compounds and (Abamectin) either at half or complete dosages were effective in reducing population density of S.littoralis during the two successive seasons (2004 - 2005). The initial kill activity values were (84.24, 71.43 % ), ( 81.71, 58.82 %) and (55.45, 52.90 %) while the residual activity values were (64.10, 70.36 %), (48.65, 61.60 % and ( 65.62 , 78.91°k ). The values of the initial and residual effect at complete dose during the two successive seasons were ((93.19, 96.19 % ), ( 84.71, 72.78 % ) and ( 65.37, 56.22 % ). Also, residual effect were (78.18 - 92.94 °rb) , (61.33 and 79.93 °rb) and (72.68 and 92.84 %) for Chloropyrifos, Abamectin and Chlorofluazuron respectively. Data revealed that the initial effect of binary mixture of (Chloropyrifos + Abamectin) , ( Chlorofluazuron + Abamectin) and ( Chloropyrifos + Chlorofluazuron) during (2004 and 2005 ) seasons, were (94.55, 98.82 °r6 ), (89.81, 84.17) and (97.09, 96.67 % ), while the residual effect were (90.74 , 95.80 %) , (86.44 , 86.56 %) and (94.08 , 95.60 % ) , respectively .
