English : Field Studies On Diarrhoea Caused By Escherichia Coli And Coccidia In Goats With Histopathological Related Features

Abstract The proplem of mortality (33.9%) and diarrheain agoat flock was i vestigated in this study the bacteriological examination of 54 internal organ specimens ( intestine , liver , spleen lymph nodes) collectd from 9 necropsied local breed goats with histroy of severe diarrhoea revealed the isolation of Escherichia coli in 68.5% of these organ specimens. There was two cases of mixed infection detected in faeces of diarrhoeic goats as Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium and Yersinia enterocolitica were isolated with E. coli O145 and O26 respectively Teatment of dirrhoeicgoats with antibiotics against E. coli was successful based on the results of antibiogram assay Incidence of Eimeria infection in dead kids diarrhoeic and apperently healthy one was 8/9 (88.9%) The histopathological findings showed general congestion in the intestine othrt histopathological lesions in other organs were discussed Specimens were examined for virus and mycotic infections but were proven negative .
