| Abstract |
A total number of 112 native breed goats were subjected to some diagnostic studies of corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis infection . out of them 20 animals had superficial abscesses in the lymph nodes of the head and eck (mainly parotid which proved to harbour C pseudotuberculosis in 10 cases (pure infection 8.9%)and in 8 cases as mixed infection (7.1%) wih other bacteria . Two biotypes were detected , the ovine /caprine, nitrate rductase negative biotype I was the most prevalent (88.9%) serum collected from the animals showed that , enzyme - linked immunosorbant assay (ELISA) highly sensitive than haemolysis inhibition test (HIT) in clinically affected Antibiogram testing of the 18 C. paseudouberculosis isolates from 18 clinical cases showed a homogenous results regardless of the biotype and the nature of infection antibiotic followed by erythromycin and tetracycline (94.4% each ) in vitro assay .
