| Abstract |
Yersina enterocolitica serobiovar O:2/5, O:9/2 and O: 3/5 were isolatedfrom faecal specimens of 11 sheep and serobiovar O:2/5 and O: 3/5 were isolated from faecal specimens of 3 goat infected animals had diarrhoea and were in poor health condition Thirteen Yersinia enterocolitica out of 14 isolates (92.8%) were positive for calcium dependency and autogglutination , 10 isolates (71.4%) were positive for crystal violet binding and 8 isolates (57.1%) for guinea pigs produced conjunctivitis Yersinia outer membrane proteins were extracted from different serovars. These OMPs PAGE and all of them gave seven protein bands with molecular weight ranging from 23 to 62 kda preparations of OMPs successfully protected mice (100%) from subsequent challenge with homologous strains whereas protected (60-80%) from challenge with heterologous strains After immunization with OMP mice showed an increase in antibody titer to OMP preparations by ELISA and microagglutination test . these results indicated that the OMP preparations elicit a specific humoral antibody response in immunized animals
