English : Implementing Behavior Of Farmers Concerning Rat Control In Some Villages In Ismailia Governorate

Abstract The main objectives of this study were : to determine the respondent's level of implement rat control methods, to study the relationship between the respondents scores of implementing rat control methods and some independent variables, and to findly to identify the problems face the respondents during implementing rat control methods, identify suggestions to overcome these problems. The study was conducted in three villages selected randomly from Ismailia governorate. Data were collected by using personal interview questionnaire from sample of 150 respondents during September 2006. Data were tabulated, processed, analyzed using percentages Frequencies, Arithmetic mean, Simple correlation coefficient and Step Wize analysis. The result of study revealed that the level implementing rat control methods for the majority of the respondents ranged from moderate to high at houses and stores, while it ranged from low to moderate at birds hovel and fields. Respondents Implementing behavior was effective in reducing numbers of rats in each of the four location of rat control. There was a positive significant relationship between respondenting scores of rat control methods and some of the studied independent variables. The results showed that the most important Problems which face the respondents during their implement concerning rat control were: deficiency of cleanliness system in the village, lack of traps used for in rats control and low participation of local units in rat control activities. The most important educational problems were : deficiency of information programs related to rat control methods, need to several skills for using toxic bait at birds hovel as will as fields, and demonstration meeting on rat control methods were not enough. The results indicated that the most important suggestions to overcome the problems were : Facilities of governorate are required to implement rat control methods and the community participation in the cleanliness of the village were necessary. The most important suggestions to overcome the educational problems were: increasing the number of national campaigns on rat control and alternatives of rodenticides must be used .
