ABSTRACT
Nine lentil genotypes were evaluated for 2 years at six locations in both upper and Lower Egypt. Entries differed significantly for seed yield. Variances of both years and locations represented a major proportion of total variance of seed yield. Indicated that there were fluctuations in the environmental conditions throughout the experiments. Significant genotype x environment (linear) interaction occurred for seed yield. Mean yields of genotypes were linearly regressed on the average of all entries in each environment. Linear regression accounted for 55 % of the variation in yields of the nine genotypes. Six genotypes showed wide adaptability to all environments however. H4/1/8 was the most stable genotype with highest seed yield among all entries and could be recommended for releasing.
